escape

i supposed it's been a long time since the last entry. i was wondering what to write in this blog of mine, i already have a somewhat weekly journal in friendster. the things i've been writing about are mostly inspirations for things. it maybe weird, but that's me. i'm an enigma, and i hide too many secrets. let me carry my own burden. it is mine that i must bear. i don't wish for others to help. no sir.

i've been surfing a lot lately. in the day, i go to kaed and surf at the computer lab. at night the urge to spend my dad's hard-earned cash at the cybercafe was irresistable. but hey dad, i spend a lot on food too, so no worries there, it's being used for a good cause :).

writing a story is hard, i have found. it's harder when you are always tempted to stop. its even harder when you don't know what you are writing about. but it is the hard-earned efforts that pay much. just like the one i'm writing right now, the one called outerworld 1. it's my effort of rewriting final fantasy viii following my version. kept adding a few ideas here and there. a story is like an escape from that real life. people call it mundane, but life really isn't. i've got friends who are living exciting lives, and they don't complain. anyway, a story is an escape. it pulls you away to a refuge where you would be watching your characters do stuff you know they couldn't. it's like watching a movie, or playing video games, or surfing the internet.

don't it reads that i do like to escape from the real world? yes, i'm afraid i am. i am caging myself into my own world. i am afraid the escape i seek is actually trapping me instead... it is because of the burdens i carry? are they actually closing me away?

that's deep. i like it. i may make it a story one day :)

couleur

for the past few days the reign of couleur has been very supreme. this phenomena that exists to excite in this world is a strange one. its influence can ber intimidating, shocking and even devastating. couleur has a direct and indirect impact on the very lives of the person who is influenced by them. couleur directs attention, commands respect, invites disgust, repels dignity, and a many impressions.

appearing in certain couleurs can direct interpretations from the perceptions. people interpret different couleurs in different translations. couleur has symbolical meaning and must not be selected with utmost ignorance; if one should be concerned of the impacts, that is. it can be said that the usage of couleur must not be viewed so lightly. even a couleur is a dangerous term that can be used as a weapon.

when one see the couleur carried by another, one can interpret their persona. imagine someone in a bright couleur, interpretation is mostly into the light side, while dark couleur carries the dark side of the persona. because of such interpretations it effects the mood by itself. sometimes the influence might not be that strong if one is already acquainted with the said person, but first impressions tend to carry just that, and more so strongly if the said person is frequently seen in such couleur.

couleur is an invitation card of sorts. it invites not just interpretations which could be more so wrongly than right, it either tempts or repels. it tempts the attentions of the negative, or either the positive. bad couluers will seek out the negativity aspects, tempting evil sights and intentions, repelling positive views and taking negative ones. it is up to each individual to interpret how this statement can come to be.

say the couleur that is known as rouge. what is always associated with rouge? it carries a message of passion, of fervour, of spirit and determined enthusiasm. rouge may also call out the interpretation of a devastating aftermath. it is the symbol of rage and fury, the determination and the struggles that was wrought after, of blood that was spilled, of the fire that burnt.

what about the couleur bleu? surely when one hears of it, one knows of its cooling, soothing, harmonious, calm properties. it is a couleur of loyalty, of dependability, the color of unity and trust. but bleu may also be cold, emotionless, obscene, mysterious. like the sea that held its calming, soothing waters, it may also carry deep within it the threats of life itself. curiously enough, this couleur is universally the best as it carries most positive messages, and less negative cultural associations across various cultures.

the symbolism of couleur is most strong in every culture, and even each individual tend to interpret couleur in different manners, according to his or her upbringings. but its also true to say that individuals do agree on one opinion regarding certain couleurs. Bleu has always been associated with the male psyche, while rose has been a definite tie with the female psyche. strangely enough, bleu-garbed female could be accepted into the society, but a rose-garbed male is perversed and utterly disliked.

but gender issues are not of concern here, nor any collected opinions on this may prove that bleu is male's and rose are for females. it is an individual thing, and there is every right for any individual to be in any couleur he or she fancies, but it must follow the norms and proper morales of the society. but this we won't touch upon.

couleur of your life. feeling bleu perhaps? or maybe you feel vert in envy? the association of couleurs with emotions are strong, and apparently different couleurs are associated with different emotions, but there are many variants of understanding between different individuals. the imperial couleur is jaune in the east, and pourpre in the west. the couleur of noir can be representations of mortifying aspects, but it can be a gratifying or majestic at some point. it can be both as well. does it mean that couleur has two sides, like that of a coin? it may be so, since the duality of things are rampant in all existence.

how can a couleur be a weapon? this is only, and purely, effecting the association with a group or community. the couleur of the skin has been subjected to grave misuse in the days before. why had this happened? again, it is the grave misinterpretation and such. the mind of man can be most narrow when one is ignorant. and so it is important for man to know everything, even in simple and mundane things like couleur.

essentials

everyone has their own set of essential. an essential is a strange thing that has an insignificant value to one, and an inferior value to another. that said, every essential is unique to a person. a person can have as many essentials as he or she likes.

for myself, i have seven essentials, and they all perform different tasks from the utmost important to the minimal. these seven essentials have different value to me, but they all are essentially an essential. i list below the seven most essential, from least to most.

...

heck, i can't. these essentials differ in value in different period of times. an essential changes its value in a different space and time, depending on the current situation. i see that essentials might change values, but their presence is required nevertheless. you will never know when you would need an essential.

my seven essentials are sight, voice, time, space, key, money and identity. their presence is required almost all the time, and without time, i'll be stuck for an indetermined period of time. sometimes i don't need them at all, but in many occasions, it is good to know that you have them close to you.

my sight is my pair of glasses. my voice enables me to connect to people and if i can't talk, an sms would do. my time i carry it around with a watch. my space is enough for anything i can save in my thumbdrive. my key unlocks doors that lead to many places; my dorm room or mom's car. my money to buy what a human is required to purchase. my identity is with my matric card, my identity card, those thin plastic things that tell you and those who wants to know who you essentially are.

essentials, there will be no fun without them.

kagi

kagi. what does kagi mean? well, this four-letter word in english has no meaning so far, but in a language used in a country at the far east, kagi means key. and guess what? this word is only two-letters in that language intimately called nihongo by its fluent speakers.

kagi entails more than just a word or two syllables that form a word, though. kagi is one that grants access to entrance to a whole new possibility, or a familiar locality offering, yes, a whole new possibility. kagi comes in many forms. there is the physical kagi; tools that have many different forms as well, and there is the non-physical kagi, which is shapeless and formless, unseen yet exists and recognizable.

the physical kagi takes shape in many different forms. most recognizable is the 'lock's key'. the lock's key consists of the bow, the grip part, and the long blade. the lock's key has many names and forms too. the most famous will always be the skeleton key, the simplest looking key of all. then there is also the 'card key'. this is by far the most modern physical kagi.

imagine being at the airport, due to a flight on an airplane. if you lost your ticket and your boarding pass, it would be very difficult to go on the flight. these two things are tool kagis and they grant you access. remember the terminal with tom hanks' character stranded at the airport? he lost his documents and was not granted permission to enter the country. yes, kagi can not only be in the form of a lock's key, it could also be those mundane things like paper or card.

the non-physical kagi may easily be things such as a sound, words, or phrases. remember in harry potter? there's that portrait of the fat lady that stands between hogwart's grand staircase and the gryffindor's common room and dormitory. and what was the kagi to enter the dorm? not a physical kagi like the ones we use to enter our own dorms, it is a password, a form of a non-physical kagi and most common in the digital age. email accounts, computer user accounts, banking savings accounts, they are all locked using passwords too, but these are character passwords, not sound passwords. kagis may not be just a form of vibrations in the air, they can be electronic signals too.

but kagis not only give access, they bar access as well. locking a door to certain rooms require a kagi too. kagis hinder unwanted access into domains. this means that kagis are working against their sole purpose as well. or maybe, kagis have dual purposes. they lock and unlock, and with them you are either locked in or locked out of the domain you wanted to enter or to exit.

note that kagis are not limited to that. there are a number of purposes for different forms of kagis. ever heard of the word 'keyword'? this has many meanings, but a keyword is usually the word that becomes the point of reference of certain information. users use keywords or keyphrases in search engines to search information that is related to these kagis. phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses; they are kagis that link. and then there is the human kagi, for example a friend, your parents, your relatives. having someone you know can help you gain access to mingle with a certain crowd you want to approach.

kagis are a curious thing. their existence may be insignificant at one time, and be most important the next. when you lost a kagi, you lose the path to a space in existence. sometimes we overlook these kagis, but they are, like everything else in this world, has a purpose nonetheless.

virus outbreak alert!

recently, there's been some outbreak of a virus plaguing my kuliyyah building. it's been spreading around and attacking those frail bodily systems and is quite destructive. those who are affected by the virus keeps throwing tantrums and stuff. the observation done by doctors conclude that those related to the patients suffering from this virus have these symptoms:

a. change in facial expression,
b. wrinkles cropping out,
c. the lips curving downwards,
d. frequent sighing,
e. tendency to beg for medicine from others, no matter who they are.

the virus may have been a medium threat, and attacks only some patients who have contracted the virus through physical contact, such as the entry to certain slots with the infected object. some who are not protected with the right antivirus, or have an outdated antivirus, is subjected to these attacks.

this virus, known to everyone colloquailly as Brontok, can attack any unprotected computers, and therefore it is important for every user to keep alert on the thumbdrives and external hard drives that are connected to their computers. always install and update the latest antivirus and its definition, and backup any important data from your computer.

last and not posibbly least, if your computer has been affected, visit your nearest antivirus website and find out the possible ways to get rid of the virus once and for all.

thank you!
